I really enjoyed "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years." The book gets into gear as Donald explains how a film director contacts him to make a story about his life, and he then makes an amazing discovery -he doesn't have a very good story! The rest of the book describes what he learns about the components of a good story (in book, film, etc.) and then he applies that to his own life to create a better story; not just for his film, but for the betterment of his ongoing life.
This was a great book at a great time for me. It was helpful to look at my own story and to see how some of the dark places helped to make a better story. It also challenged me to consider how I might be more intentional about living out a better story -not only for me, but with and for the people around me as well.
This is not a self-help book with seven steps to a better life. However, it does chronicle how one man actively sought and attained a better life. And I believe it is a good book for anyone who wants to be challenged and inspired to seek a better life too.
