We've been handing out free lip balm with our church's name/logo/website on it to people in our community for the past few months. It's been going great...until today.
I successfully handed out several today along with invitations to our Easter services; all to people who had great reactions. I was feeling really good about life until I noticed my own lips were chapped. I reached into my pocket for my lip balm and realized I had committed the cardinal sin...I accidentally gave out my used lip balm to an unsuspecting stranger!!!! What was I thinking!!!! What are they thinking?!? "Where is the hidden camera? Does the church also give out half/eaten communion crackers on Sundays?"
I am so embarrassed! So, why am I writing this and publicly confessing my error to anyone in the world who is willing to read this? Because, I am really sorry, and if you're the person who got the "previously owned" lip balm, I hope you'll accept my sincere apologies. There is also a lesson in here to learn from my mistake for other churches/organizations giving out similar products. And the lesson to all: Always check to see that the safety seal is intact when a complete stranger gives you lip balm...
